Some collect essays; I collect lyrics that speak to me, that relate to me in some way. Reading about this walk with Leslie Jamison kept reminding me of a line from one of my favorite Nickel Creek songs called "This Side" -- "Only the curious have something to find." Isaac, I especially liked what you said about "a church for storytelling." What a beautiful visual that painted in my mind.

You're welcome, Isaac! I highly recommend giving the song a listen if you haven't heard it before. PS: That lyric might actually be my next tattoo! :-D

I love Leslie’s writing so much and this was great to get a peek inside her brain and how she thinks. I love what she says about empathy and how you’ll never know all of a person.

I too really liked her take on empathy...it reminded me of a Scottish saying along the lines of “be kind to all you meet, because all you meet are fighting a hard battle”... a lot of hard battles out there and it is incumbent on us all to be as kind as we can... not uncritically accepting or blindly condoning but understanding that circumstances impact us all in different ways- Great read - thank you!

Thank you, Leonor! Things got a lil' hectic in February but I've got a bunch of great walks lined up. Promise we're back to our regularly scheduled programing, er, walks. 💚
